Go to http://www.lesliesdubai.com, a website tailored for people moving to Dubai, and check out “MARKET PLACE”. Under SERVICES look for “HEAD HUNTERS”. There is a pretty good list of head hunters with their phone numbers, emails and websites.

Hi Leanne. My wife was a bit bored in Dubai because she didn’t drive and couldn’t really get around. Re your visa – it is like working anywhere abroad – you have to get sponsored before you get a work permit. Re soya products – there are plenty of different products in Dubai and it is quite good for vegetarians (like I am), so you won’t have any issues.

Hi there

Your website is great! My husband and I are looking to move to Dubai from South Africa. I have some questions: How has your wife found it living there? Is she happy, would you have kids there? Have you made nice friends.
My husband will get a job before we go over. I do want to work when I’m there. Will it be a problem to find a job without a work visa – seems like a catch 22. I need a work visa to work, but I can only get one when I have found a job. I am over 30 so the age shouldn’t be a hassle.
Also – sounds silly… do they have soya milk and soya products there? We are vegan.
Would love to hear your responses.

Thank you! The TV is mostly cable. You will get the core channels like CNN or BBC in the basic package and you will have to pay extra for anything else. You can also buy a satellite one. I don’t watch TV too much, so I can’t really advise on prices. But it is handy available in shopping malls, so you won’t have any issues setting it up.

Hi. Firstly, congrats on an excellent site. I’m looking to relocate to Dubai fairly soon and this is one of the most useful resources I’ve found.

My question is about television, what is available there? Cable, satellite, terrestial etc and costs including dish, box if required?
